Discipline in the library?

Any guidelines about what can be accessed on the net? Can they play games?

  1. yes they can play games as long as they have finished their work & are quiet.

  2. Gaming is a tricky area... on the one hand we are encouraging them to spend time in the library, and we would need to develop a atmosphere of constructive work or reading - does gaming fit into this? some experts might say that there is a lot of learning that happens through gaming. Many teachers might feel that time spent n gaming should (or could) be time spent on homework, reading or research! i think we need to find a balance as we can't chase them out of the library!

  3. It is a tricky area, as I find that if I chuck them out then the library is empty and they will just go somewhere else. There are of course some games that are educational and have great value and relevance. Perhaps violent games should be avoided. They probably do have to be monitored. Anyone got any other ideas?
